Are you looking for a Snorkeling tour on Maui? If you have been browsing the different snorkeling tours in Maui you might have noticed there all all kinds of different snorkeling tours available in different areas of Maui. Below is a basic description of the different types of tours. Snorkeling in the waters surrounding Maui is a magical experience. There are many different snorkeling tours offered on Maui. The most popular snorkeling tours are to the Molokini crater located off the shores of south Maui. When deciding which Molokini snorkeling trip you would like to take there are a few things to consider. The size of the boat, type of boat, the location from where the tour departs and how many snorkeling stops the tour makes. The most of larger boats, sail boats and most sailing catamarans leave out of either Maalaea Harbor or Lahiana Harbor. Some of the sailing catamarans will leave from Kaanpali Beach or other beaches. Most of the smaller raft style boats leave from the Kihei boat launch in South Kihei. Most of the Molokini snorkeling tours are about 4-6 hours in duration depending on the number of snorkeling stops and some serve some kind of light breakfast and a full lunch, with the exception of the express Molokini snorkel which is 2 hours in duration and does not serve any food but does include beverages. There are also a couple of tours that make three snorkel stops, generally two at Molokini and another off the south Maui coast. The snorkeling trips offered from West Maui that depart from either Lahaina or Kaanapali go to a few different areas off the West Maui coast or Lana'i our neighboring island. On the way to the Lana'i snorkel spots you have a good chance of seeing their resident spinner dolphins that love to interact with the boats. When it comes to choosing a boat the sailing catamarans are little more upscale with only around 60 passengers per trip. The sail boats are a little smaller and more adventurous. The raft style boats accommodate approximately 24 guests and most do not have restrooms. They are not recommended for anyone with back or neck issues, pregnant women or young children. The larger boats can accommodate up to 149 guests. Due to the size there is plenty of shaded seating and they can be better for people who are prone to sea sickness.
