The lower deck of the 65′ catamaran is fully accessible from bow to stern including tables and restrooms. We also limited handicapped parking on the Kailua Pier where we depart for our ocean adventures. Will I get sea sick?

The bigger the boat, the more stable it is. Our vessel is 65′ in length with a 30′ beam and the largest boat of its kind on the Kona Coast. It’s a totally different experience than being on a smaller boat or a raft. If you know you are prone to sea sickness, we recommend you take Bonine or Dramamine the night before and one several hours before your cruise. Please read directions to see that you are able to take this medication. We carry this on board however, it is best to have it in your system prior to boarding. You are more likely to feel better on the lower deck of the vessel as there is less pitch. We also offer complimentary Ginger pills and a Ginger drink which is great for motion sickness and it’s all natural.

Where will I find free parking?

You are welcome to park for free at our office located in the Illima Court Shopping Center at 75-5629 Kuakini Hwy., Kailua Kona, HI 96740 about one block away from the Kailua Pier. You may park at the Hotel King Kamehameha which is closer however, they charge by the hour. If you require handicapped parking there are two stalls located in the cul-de-sac in front of the Kailua Pier but come early as they are used frequently. We also have access to pier parking however, it is by reservation only and you must have a handicapped placard to obtain it. Please ask one of our team members for more details when you are making your reservation for your ocean adventure.

Do you provide hotel pick-ups?

We do not provide hotel pick-ups. Our vessel departs from down-town Kailua Kona, at the north end of Alii Drive, from the Kailua Pier. Taxis, Uber and Lyft are options for transportation if you’re staying outside of walking distance.

Such a fun time!

We did the whale watching excursion in late March 2021 -- myself, my mother, and my girls (ages 7 and 10). The boat was AWESOME! Huge, very clean, nice upper- and lower-level viewing areas, both in the shade and in the sun. It would be so fun to do a snorkel tour from this boat! :)

In total, we had ~6 whale sightings. Unfortunately, never super close, but fun nonetheless. We also saw a large pod of dolphins as we were leaving the pier where the tour took off from. We were served Hawaii chips and a brownie (all individually packaged). It was nice to have snacks! Staff was nice and knowledgeable. Lots of whale facts shared. Staff enforced social distancing and mask wearing and hand sanitizer was accessible throughout the boat.

Do it!

Mahalo to captain Bob for a wonderful afternoon at sea. It was our 10 month old’s first boat ride and he loved it! We got to see humpback whales up close. Dennis was an amazing naturalist, I have a marine biology degree and I still learned something new! I love that this company strictly follows the marine mammal protection act rules, and doesn’t chase the whales. Super ethical wildlife viewing. We also appreciated that everyone followed mask protocol on board- super important for those of us with babies who can’t wear masks. Mahalo body glove!!
