Napali means “the cliffs"

Climb aboard our rigid-hull inflatable rafts with twin 225 hp outboards that get you to the Napali Coast in record time! They’re large enough to include all the comforts you expect and nimble enough to get up close to Kauai’s famous coast.

The adventure begins when you leave from the shore of scenic Hanalei Bay and we shuttle you by dinghy to your rigid hull inflatable raft, which is anchored just offshore. There, you do a dry-transfer, stow your gear, grab a seat, and get ready for the experience of a lifetime.

Minutes after leaving the bay, the spectacular Napali Coast comes into view and you see why its dramatic cliffs and beaches have enchanted painters, authors, and travelers for centuries… and we’re just getting started!

As we travel down the coast, your crew and captain entertain your imagination with stories of the Hawaiians who once made this coast their home. From sea-level, you really get a feel for the tremendous scale of Napali. Keep an eye out for dolphins, turtles, and seabirds, which are often seen on our tours.

Depending on the ocean conditions the day of your raft tour, we stop and snorkel at one of several protected and shallow areas that are teeming with tropical fish. Fins, goggles (with corrective lenses if you need them), snorkels, and flotation aids are all provided. If you’re new to snorkeling, our crew is on-hand to provide instruction and pointers so you can get the most from your adventure.

After you have a chance to snorkel and relax on the Napali Coast, we serve a tasty sandwich lunch before we head back up the coast to Hanalei Bay.

We pride ourselves on creating fun and memorable ocean adventures for our guests. Your safety is our top priority; therefore, all tour routes, destinations, and snorkeling activities are dependent on ocean and weather conditions. Conditions around Kauai can change quickly, so our expert captains are constantly analyzing and may wait until check-in time to determine the best route for the day. If that occurs, you will have the opportunity to go on the altered tour, reschedule to another day, or cancel your tour at no charge if it is weather related.

Boat Details

If adventure is what you’re seeking, then our custom Kauai-built Adventurer II & III are sure to get you to the Napali Coast in record time! Two identical 40-foot long and 12.5-foot wide Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats are quick and agile, large enough to include all the comforts you expect and nimble enough to get up close to the Napali Coast’s lush valleys, sea caves, waterfalls and lava tubes.

Not to be confused with a zodiac-type rubber raft, they’re made with a channeled fiberglass hull that cuts through the waves. Each vessel is Coast Guard certified for over 30 passengers, but we won’t exceed 25, due to permit restrictions.

The adventure begins when we leave from the beach of scenic Hanalei Bay and shuttle you by dinghy to the vessel which is anchored just offshore. There, you’ll do a “dry-transfer”, stow your gear, grab a seat and get ready for the experience of a lifetime.

Cushioned, stadium-style bench seats allow comfortable viewing for all on-board. Our high speed RHIB’s, combined with a unique North Shore departure brings the Napali Coast into view just minutes after we leave Hanalei Bay, no one gets to the coast faster.

Just a step away from water entry, a ladder is provided for ease of access back onto the vessel and a freshwater shower is available when snorkeling is done. Featuring a small but functional marine head (restroom) on board, and a retractable canopy for shade when stopped but great unobstructed views while in motion.

Where to start? This was amazing. Checked in at the Tahiti Nui restaurant in Hanalei. Then they drove us in a big van down to Hanalei bay, where we then walked onto a small shuttle boat which took us out to the rigid hull inflatable boat, which was anchored in the bay. For us staying on the North side, this was perfect!

Everyone from check-in, to shuttling us to the bay, to loading us on to the boat was so nice and accommodating. Dry bags were provided, as was lunch and soft drinks/water. The views were stunning, and the captain and first mate provided just the right amount of info on the sights but left plenty of time to simply take in the beauty. We were in and out of caves, saw sea turtles, saw mountain sheep... it was amazing!

Then stopped off for some snorkeling at Tunnels beach reef before lunch. Had about an hour to snorken and eat on the boat.

We could not have asked for a more enjoyable adventure! I can't wait to go back to Kauai, and I guarantee I will book with Holo Holo Charters when I do!
