If you are ready for adventure, we are ready for you! On Kauai, there is only one licensed boat tour company departing from Hanalei Bay that offers Napali Coast Hanalei Tours, and that’s us, Holo Holo Charters. If you are looking for the ultimate Hawaiian Napali Coast Hanalei Tours, then this is the one for you! (This tour operates seasonally from April through October)

Napali Coast Hanalei Tours
Get up close and personal to the majestic Napali Coast on our custom-built rafts while we explore sea caves, lava tunnels, waterfalls, and hidden beaches. To top off the experience, we will stop for a brief snorkel session at a tropical reef for a view of the underwater world below. Book now for your Napali Coast Hanalei Tours.

Our custom-built, rigid-hull inflatables (RHIB’s) were designed for getting you to the Napali Coast in record time from Hanalei. Our RHIB’s may look like a typical raft, but they don’t act like one! Our vessels have some notable amenities that set them apart from the rest, including powerful (225hp!) twin outboard motors, bench seating that faces forward (so you’re not sitting sideways all day, craning your neck), a marine head (bathroom), and sunshade (while parked).

Adventurer II and Adventurer III launched in 2012 and 2013 and have spent their summers taking people on boat tour adventures, right out of Kauai’s beloved Hanalei Bay. This Napali Adventure & Snorkel is a fantastic boat tour for people staying on the north shore of Kauai, or for anyone that wants to get up-close and personal to the Napali Coast.

(What happened to Adventurer I, you may wonder. The original vessel, Ocean Adventurer, was a leased vessel operating for the first season of Hanalei departures while we built Adventurer II and Adventurer III from the hull up.)

Your Napali Coast boat tour actually begins at the iconic Tahiti Nui Restaurant in the heart of Hanalei town. There, you will greet our friendly staff, grab your gear (we will provide dry bags for your items), and shuttle you to the world-famous Hanalei Bay. Our shuttle catamaran, Holo Moku (another one of our custom-built vessels) will meet you on the shores of Black Pot Beach Park, to take you down the Hanalei River and into the bay past the Hanalei Pier. We’ll tie up to the tour vessel for a dry transfer as you step aboard, stow your gear, and grab a seat.

After a short briefing from your Captain, we’ll toss the mooring lines, hit the coast and start peeling our eyes for wildlife such spinner dolphins, turtles, sea birds, and maybe even goats along the cliffs! It’s also not at all uncommon to see hikers, braving the notoriously brutal Kalalau Trail.

Our Kauai-built RHIB’s are excellent vessels for Napali boat tours because they’re quick and nimble and the perfect size to explore all the nooks and crannies of the coast. They allow us to get under the waterfalls and into caves (ocean and weather permitting), like the incredible Open Ceiling Cave. As you’re cruising along, your captain and crew will point out all the hidden beaches along the way like: Tunnels, Ke’e, Hanakapi’ai, Kalalau, Honopu, Miloli’i, and so many more.

Sit back and enjoy the stories about history and legends of the coast, facts about wildlife, and how this beautiful island was created. Our crew are here to show you an unforgettable time, and to help you in every way. Please don’t be shy if you have a question or if you need anything during your Napali Coast boat tour.

Using his or her discretion, and depending on ocean conditions, your captain will choose an area to stop and snorkel for around forty (40) minutes. We provide fins, goggles, and snorkels in every shape and size and will offer flotation devices (pool noodles) for those who need a little extra support in the water. Your safety is our number one priority, we will be there for you, above everything else, to assist in making this a safe and memorable adventure.

If you don’t feel like snorkeling, just kick back on the boat and soak in all the gloriousness of the Napali Coast! If you need a break from the sun, we’ve got a nice shade canopy we’ll roll out over part of the vessel. If you want maximum sunshine, go forward. It’s all up to you—it’s your Napali Coast boat tour!

Our snorkel spot is usually our lunch spot too—we’ve got fresh deli-style sandwiches, chips, island juices and a Kauai Kookie to enjoy for lunch. Once we’re all on board and fed, we’ll turn it around to soak up all those “salty hair, don’t care” vibes on our way back to beautiful Hanalei Bay, where you can carry the magic with you, into the afternoon, on Kauai’s unbelievable north shore.

If adventure is what you’re seeking, then our custom Kauai-built Adventurer II & III are sure to get you to the Napali Coast in record time! Two identical 40-foot long and 12.5-foot wide Rigid Hull Inflatable Boats are quick and agile, large enough to include all the comforts you expect and nimble enough to get up close to the Napali Coast’s lush valleys, sea caves, waterfalls and lava tubes.

Not to be confused with a zodiac-type rubber raft, they’re made with a channeled fiberglass hull that cuts through the waves. Each vessel is Coast Guard certified for over 30 passengers, but we won’t exceed 25, due to permit restrictions.

The adventure begins when we leave from the beach of scenic Hanalei Bay and shuttle you by dinghy to the vessel which is anchored just offshore. There, you’ll do a “dry-transfer”, stow your gear, grab a seat and get ready for the experience of a lifetime.

Cushioned, stadium-style bench seats allow comfortable viewing for all on-board. Our high speed RHIB’s, combined with a unique North Shore departure brings the Napali Coast into view just minutes after we leave Hanalei Bay, no one gets to the coast faster.

Just a step away from water entry, a ladder is provided for ease of access back onto the vessel and a freshwater shower is available when snorkeling is done. Featuring a small but functional marine head (restroom) on board, and a retractable canopy for shade when stopped but great unobstructed views while in motion.

Where to start? This was amazing. Checked in at the Tahiti Nui restaurant in Hanalei. Then they drove us in a big van down to Hanalei bay, where we then walked onto a small shuttle boat which took us out to the rigid hull inflatable boat, which was anchored in the bay. For us staying on the North side, this was perfect!

Everyone from check-in, to shuttling us to the bay, to loading us on to the boat was so nice and accommodating. Dry bags were provided, as was lunch and soft drinks/water. The views were stunning, and the captain and first mate provided just the right amount of info on the sights but left plenty of time to simply take in the beauty. We were in and out of caves, saw sea turtles, saw mountain sheep... it was amazing!

Then stopped off for some snorkeling at Tunnels beach reef before lunch. Had about an hour to snorken and eat on the boat.

We could not have asked for a more enjoyable adventure! I can't wait to go back to Kauai, and I guarantee I will book with Holo Holo Charters when I do!
