What is the South Shore reroute?

The south shore is home to beautiful reefs that provide a home for some 200 or so indigenous Hawaiian marine species. You will have the opportunity to spot wonderful coral reefs, colorful reef fish, sea turtles, dolphins, and much more!

What types of marine life will we see?

Can we touch the animals?

We maintain a respectful distance from humpback whales and follow all state and federal requirements. All other marine life we get you as close as possible and in the water with them when it makes sense. Our goal is to allow you to be as close as possible. We let tourists swim with them ... the only thing you are not allowed to do is harass them via chasing them, cornering them, or touching them. Our captain's put you in the direct path of the sea life and were they are swimming and having you get in the water is common place and very exciting because more often then not the spinners will interact with the snorkelers and swim under and around them.

Is the snorkeling gear provided? Can I bring my own?

Yes, all of the gear is included in the price of your ticket. You are welcome to bring your own equipment, but there will be no discount on the ticket price. If you would like to bring your own gear, Blue Ocean Adventure Tours can supplement what you may need and we always carry on board spare masks and snorkels.

How long will we be in the water?

We spend more time in the water than other boats on the island. Again we let nature rule the show, but will often spend 45 minutes or more at each snorkel site.

What should I wear/bring?

We recommend wearing a bathing suit with a couple of extra layers on for the ride over to the snorkeling or whale watching sites. We provide a dry bag for your personal belongings; just bring whatever you would need at the beach! Don’t forget a towel, sunglasses, a hat and sunscreen!

Do I need to know how to swim?

It is recommended that you have the desire to float and view marine life, we cannot create the desire to snorkel. Relaxing is the most important snorkel tip of all time!   You will also have personalized instruction in the water.

Is there public parking available at the meeting place?

Yes, parking is available at the meeting location, on the right hand side of the main road by the coconut trees.

Wildlife and fun!

We saw so much wildlife it was incredible. We saw both bottlenose dolphins and spinner dolphins a stingray monk seal and lots of turtles. The snorkel spot they took us to was incredible and the kids had an absolute blast on the slide. The staff were courteous and our whole family from teen to grammar school children had an amazing time! Would recommend this trip and this big fun boat to anyone who comes to Kauai. Will definitely come back as soon as the whales are in season.

The best part of our trip to Kauai!

Cruising the Na Pali Coast on the catamaran with Blue Ocean Adventure Tours was the best part of our trip to Kauai! The boarding process was smooth and we were provided with dry bags to keep everything in perfect shape. As soon as we set out the view was absolutely gorgeous, and it only got better as we went along! We were joined by multiple pods of dolphins who swam around the boat...magical! There are no words to describe the majestic Na Pali coast! I have travelled all over the world, and this is one of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen.
The crew members (Maka and Mikey) as well as the fearless Captain Cody were a delight to spend the day with! They took such good care of us, making sure we had all the food and drinks we might want and providing us with snorkeling equipment. Lunch was delicious.
Snorkeling at the base of the sea cliffs was fantastic! We swam with turtles and fish, and enjoyed the beautiful coral reef. Boating in and out of the caves was crazy! We also had so much fun going off the slide at the front of the boat. It was truly the adventure of a lifetime. Thank you for an unforgettable cruise!
