Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear?

We recommend you wear comfortable clothing. If you are comfortable on the ground you will be equally comfortable in the helicopter or airplane.

Will I see everything in the tour description?

Every attempt will be made by our pilots to cover each site described, weather permitting. Pilots will adjust their flight path for wind and weather and may include alternate sites. You will have the very best air tour of Kauai possible! However, your safety and comfort come first!

When should I do my tour?

We recommend doing your tour in the beginning of your stay. Reason being that if the weather is marginal we can reschedule your tour to another day, also your pilot will be giving you many unique and special places to visit during your stay which you will not want to miss out on.

What will we see on our private helicopter tour?

On these magnificent islands, there is much to be discovered by air. Certain of the countless remarkable features have, deservedly, garnered special interest and are most popular for aerial viewing. Weather permitting, our pilots will explore with you all of each island’s most famous geological features as outlined in our tour descriptions. Sometimes, wind and weather conditions necessitate a deviation from the usual tour route. In these instances, our pilots will attempt to show off other spectacular scenery not normally included on the tours, as all islands offer more hidden wonders to please the eye than can possibly be covered on a single flight. We guarantee to showcase spectacular scenery and breathtaking views that are not obtainable by car or trail.

What happens if it is cloudy or rainy on the day of our tour?

Along with ample sunshine, the islands are also blessed with abundant daily rainfall, which nourishes the lushness and creates the erosive force that continues to shape all the fascinating geology. Most of the island’s waterfalls are sustained only by rainfall, and misty showers often delight passengers with rainbows along the tour. Usually, our typical high cumulus clouds and precipitation do not diminish the quality of your tour, but instead give it dimension and add other exciting facets to your experience. However, if the pilot determines that prevailing visibility, cloud cover, or wind speeds do not allow for a good air tour, or if it is not safe to fly, we will of course cancel the flight. Because weather conditions can change dramatically day to day and hour by hour, we often cannot make a determination about your flight prior to your check‐in time.

What if our flight gets canceled due to weather?

Should your flight be delayed or canceled due to inclement weather, we will make every effort to reschedule. In the event that rescheduling is not possible, you will receive a full refund.

What is your cancellation policy?

A 48-hour cancellation or change of tour notice is required for all airplane tours. If for any reason you decide to cancel or change your reservation, you must notify us 48-hours prior to the tour date/time. Cancellations, changes, or no-shows within 48-hours of the tour are not refundable and will be charged in full. Routes and flight patterns subject to change due to weather conditions.

What is the passenger weight limitation?

Total weight per seat is restricted to 275 pounds. We do not impose any weight surcharges for individual or combined passenger weights. Per FAA regulations, all passengers plus carry-on items will be weighed at check-in.

Should I bring a camera?

Yes, we encourage passengers to bring their cameras. We can also mount your Go-Pro on the exterior of our helicopters or airplane for a fee of $25.00, should you desire it. We also provide phone lanyards for passengers flying in our helicopters

Can I choose my seat?

Our Helicopters holds 3 passengers and our airplane holds 4 passengers, everyone gets a window seat.

What is your safety record?

We have a perfect safety record with no accidents or incidents.

Doors off helicopter tour

We did the doors off helicopter tour. This is a must do! Absolutely awesome. Unbelievable scenery and views. At times I wasn’t sure it was real. Excellent captain who was great at explaining features, history, etc. There was 6 of us so we did back to back tours of 3 each. Everyone from 10 to 72 years old thought it was an experience of a lifetime. Do this with this operator, you won’t regret it!

Top 3 experience of my life

Experience of a lifetime! We can't stop talking about our 1-hour doors-off helicopter tour with Ali'i! Pure exhilaration with the doors off, on top of seeing such a beautiful island! With no doors and two seats in the front and two seats in the back, each seat had a fully unobstructed view! Our pilot Jef was knowledgeable and super friendly. We felt safe and secure the whole time. We tried to fly with them back in March, but they had to cancel due to weather. We are SOOO happy we returned to Kauai in June to fly with them!!! Bring your cameras/phones/GoPro... these are memories you will want to keep for a lifetime!
