Looking for a more advanced dive?

Blackwater diving is a unique night dive which will take you miles offshore where you will hang, suspended from a 60ft tether, over 4000ft of water to watch open ocean, or pelagic, animals drift by. You’ll have the opportunity to see animals ranging from perfectly clear larval fish and invertebrates to siphonophores, and even cephalopods out in the deep. If you want to observe something you have never seen before, this is the dive for you. Our divemasters are still surprised by new and exciting creatures in the deep.

Dive Requirements
This dive is for the confident diver that has excellent buoyancy skills and is self-reliant
You must have at least 50 logged dives to join us on this adventurous dive
You must be in good health and have NO heart conditions
You must be able to converse in English
What to bring?
Seasickness and anti-nausea medication is highly recommended for this dive due to the higher than normal motion as well as lack of objects to help coordinate motion.
A full wetsuit with a hood will help protect the body from jellies floating by
A BCD with a bladder. This will better allow you to achieve the neutral buoyancy necessary to hover effortlessly among the pelagic critters leading to a longer lasting and more enjoyable dive.
For photographers: A macro lens (50-60mm for crop sensor and 90mm for full frame)

Did the mantas take a vacation?
Join us again on a standby basis!

Manta Rays are wild animals and we cannot guarantee their presence – it’s one of the things that makes this activity so special! Although we see them on a regular basis if you do not see a manta ray on your night out, you can go again for FREE on another night on a space-available standby basis (rental gear not included). This offer never expires, but is non-transferable and has no refund or cash value. Keep in mind that standby spaces may be extremely limited, especially during the busiest time of the year.

Each guest is required to sign a liability waiver before your first charter of your trip. Our regulars are required to sign one each month.

Proof of Certification
We need to see proof of your certification. Having your dive number doesn’t tell us much so be prepared to present your physical certification card or e-card. If you are certified through SSI, SDI, or NAUI you can look yourself up and screenshot the diver verification screen. If you were certified through PADI click here to get a replacement card. Get an ecard so you always have it on you!

I went diving with these guys over several days during my recent trip to the Big Island. I chose them because they had the different dives I wanted to do with a schedule that worked for me, they offered valet service for my gear and also had discounts for multiple bookings. The valet service was fantastic, I handed my gear over on my first dive and picked it up at the end of the trip. I never touched the weights or lifted a tank the entire trip! They brought my rig over and put it on me right before getting in the water. Easy diving! I did the black water dive (do it!) and the Manta ray dive as well as both local and the longer range boat dives - the captains and DMs were all great and both of their boats were clean and comfortable and they were very organized. I would and will definitely recommend this shop to others heading that way. Thanks guys!
