About the Afternoon Dive

Whether it’s your first time diving or you’ve been a certified pro for years, there is something for everyone to enjoy on our most popular dive. Explore two shallow reefs and meet Hawaii’s green sea turtles!

Dive Itinerary

We pick you up at your Waikiki area hotel between 11 – 11:15 a.m. and arrive at our shop at 11:30 a.m. (If you are meeting us at the shop, meet time is 11:30 a.m.) From there, we fill out the necessary paperwork, gear up, and get onto the boat.

We launch at about 12 p.m. and head out to our first dive site, normally a shallow reef dive with Hawaii’s green sea turtles. After the first dive, we change out the tanks while you enjoy complimentary snacks and water.

During our surface interval, we motor to our second dive site, a second shallow reef dive. Once we complete our second dive, we head back to the marina and offload.

While we unload, you have time to visit our shop to pick up a t-shirt, hoodie, or hat to commemorate your dive, fill in and stamp your log book, or grab a shave ice near-by. We return to the shuttle at 3:30 p.m. and drop you off at your Waikiki hotel around 4 p.m.

Cancellation Policy

We have a standard 48-hour cancellation policy for all dive charters and a 72-hour cancellation policy in effect for all private charters. Refunds are not given if you fail to show for your scheduled dives or cancel your reservation with less than 48/72 hours notice.

Fun Dives

Great afternoon fun dives. Only 6 tourist divers, a captain, an instructor for the non certified divers, including my daughter who wanted to see turtles (and we saw lots of them), and a dive master for us certified divers.

Everything was well organized. The first dive was split in two groups, one for the inexperienced so they could master a few key skills, and the second for the certified divers. The second dive combined all the divers and we saw a lot of Sea life, including the turtles, octopus, and 4 foot eel scampering for a place to hide. Hats off to Crash, the dive master, Min the instructor and captain Dan.

Awesome Experience for One Certified and One Non-certified Diver!

My partner and I did the two afternoon shallow dives and had such a great time! I'm newly open water certified and my partner had never been diving before. There were 3 other non-certified divers and one certified diver on our trip (the small groups are really nice!). Our instructors Min and Joe were super friendly, knowledgeable and patient, as was the captain of our boat. Non-certified divers watch a video and answer some questions while you gear up at the dive shop, then you head out on the boat. It was a short 10-15 minute trip to the dive site with more instruction along the way. Non-certified divers have to complete a few surface skills before heading down. Throughout the instruction, skills and dive, Min and Joe were really attentive and made sure everyone felt comfortable. We dived at Koko Craters and saw so many sea turtles swimming around and resting! We also saw puffer fish, sea urchins, scorpion fish, eels, flounder, nudibranchs and so many awesome things. It was a really fun dive, and I'm glad we went with Reef Pirates. 10/10 would recommend!
