There's no better way to experience the Big Island than to spend two hours adventuring on the magnificent ocean.
This trip is our way to make snorkeling a little more affordable and at the same time give folks an opportunity to experience the beauty of the Big Island’s healthy west coast reef. We have several options to snorkel along the Kohala Coast pending weather, but our favorite is known for the sea turtles. Regardless of which reef we go to, our guests will experience the beauty of the underwater world of coral, reef fish, sea caves, turtles, and the occasional manta, spotted eagle ray, octopus, and/or eel. We even had a harmless whale shark show up to our snorkel spot before…but those are very rare in Hawaii.
Our Afternoon snorkel adventures offer education in conservation and help guests understand what each individual can do to help protect and promote the health of our reefs. If our reefs are healthy, our marine mammals are healthy…and our afternoon snorkels allow our captain and crew to share a little more in reef education and conservation.
What to Bring: Towel, hat, and “reef friendly sunscreen” which can be purchased on the boat. Come dressed to get in the water. We do provide snorkel gear, however, you are welcome to bring your own. Lifejackets and flotation noodles are available for children and adults. We do not provide wetsuits and prescription goggles, however, you are welcome to rent them from Snorkel Bobs in the Mauna Lani shops. (We do not think you need a wetsuit because our waters are quite warm, but always want to give an option to rent for those that would prefer).
